THIS freaky pair of very early earrings feature two strange things: one, the creamy, rosy pearls aren't pearls. They're expertly blown glass. And why are there four little loops spaced around the "pearls"? Were these half-orbs poached from some other, even older piece of jewelry? They may have been configured into these earrings - complete with wig hooks - before Marie Antoinette lost her head.
