A recent work-study program at the New York Center for Book Arts yielded a treasure trove of old moveable iron type (see bottom of detail image for an example of what the type looks like before it is plated). Originally used on hand-cranked Vandercook Proof Presses, each piece of type used in these necklaces were worn out ever so slightly by normal printing use, and were consigned to a bin to be melted down and re-cast. These obsolete pieces (each measures a little under 1" long) have been rescued, plated in silver, and hung from a 22" silver-plated brass figaro chain. Spring ring clasp secures chain at back. Specify which TWO letters of the Alphabet you'd like on your necklace in the "message" section at checkout. The symbols $, &, and % are also available. Sorry, we can't accommodate specific size, font style, upper- or lower- case preferences; let us pick type for you from our always-rotating vintage stock. Your two letters may or may not be a different size and/or typeface. Allow 2-3 weeks for domestic delivery and 3-4 weeks for international, since each necklace is made to order.
