This is a cast of a 65-million-year-old fossil of a Nautilus (which is a tiny crustacean that grows a spiral, fractal-based shell). Millions of years in rock had turned the once-living creature into a hematite impression, with crystal-like growths on its tiny chambers. Reproduced carefully in sterling silver, this reversible pendant measures about 1" in diameter at it's widest point, and hangs from a delicate 24" sterling silver chain. Necklace is reversible. Spring ring clasp at back.
