These heavy cast-aluminum tigers were probably originally intended to be lamp bases, but were never finished. Weighing in about 15 pounds, they can be used as sculptures, bookends, or doorstops. We heard from the original owner of these weird, ferocious creatures that they were painstakingly made from several molds sometime in the 1940s. "They just don't make 'em like this anymore," he said, and we believe him. Each is about 5" tall and 11" long from nose to tail.
