Each one of these rings features an antique numbered iron nail head from the US Railroad. The numbers on them denote the year the spike was driven into a railroad tie; after a certain numbers of years doing duty on the railroad, all the nails with, say, the number "37" (from 1937) would be systematically replaced. This ensured that the railroads stayed in good repair. The nails used in these rings were probably surplus and never were used. Each nail head has been sawn from its sharp shaft and has been soldered to a 3/8" wide brushed silver ring band. Let us pick a number from the antique nails we have in stock. Available in ring sizes 5, 6, 7 and 8.
