This silver denarius, minted under Emperor Trajan (98–117 AD), depicts Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom. Trajan ruled during one of thegreatest periods of Roman expansion and stability, and by placing Libertas on his coinage, he sent a clear message—Rome was thriving, divinely favored, and destined for greatness under his leadership.
