In ancient Roman religion, Virtus was the deity of military strength and bravery. Virtus, helmeted, in military dress, standing right, left foot set on helmet, holding vertical spear reversed in right hand and upright parazonium in left.(A parazonium is a long triangular dagger, wide at the hilt end and coming to a point.) Silver Denarius, Trajan, 98-117AD. Rome.
