The "chain" on this necklace is made of teeny carved cow bone beads, and at a length of 15" was most likely made for a child to wear. A Victorian gutta percha locket hangs off of it—open it up to reveal a floral motif and a photo of a bearded man.
This product is final sale.
Bone beads and clasp, gutta percha locket, brass findings, celluloid lens, paper photo inside.
c. 1880 locket, c. 1900 chain
Good—looks as though there may have been an element attached to the locket's face that is now missing.
