Early 19th Century Silesian Iron Painted Flower Earrings

$1,250

Sold!

Silesian iron wirework predates Berlin iron by a decade or two. Made in Gleiwitz, Silesia (now part of both Poland and Germany), these elaborate jewels are made of superfine fine woven mesh manipulated into all kinds of shapes. Iron rusts, so most of these jewels have degraded over the past two centuries. Treat these earrings with extreme care: store it in a dry place, and NEVER expose them to water.
