Early Victorian Grey Agate Heart Necklace

$1,650

Sold!

This heart pendant (c. 1840) reflects an earlier phase of Scottish agate jewelry, one rooted in sentimentality. Grey agate had subtle banding and restrained palette, allowing the simple heart shape to tell a story without excess ornament or attention-seeking. Heart jewelry of this period was private and made to wear daily. I have a similar banded agate heart that I wear close to my heart every day.
