Edwardian Burnished Diamond Three Stone Ring

$2,600

Sold!

This burnished diamond band was assayed in London in 1915, in the midst of World War I. Jewelry from this period often reflects a quieter kind of luxury, pared down from the extravagant Edwardian styles of the previous decade. While countless young men were away at the front, those at home clung to sentimental tokens like this. The three stones, an enduring symbol of past, present, and future, would have carried extra poignancy when the future itself was so precarious.
