Edwardian Lucky 13 Necklace

$1,800

Sold!

Thirteen hasn't always been unlucky. In classical and early European traditions, it was associated with abundance and protection. Its darker reputation emerged later, shaped by Christian symbolism and reinforced in the modern era by superstition (like the slasher films that take place on Friday.) In fact, in Italy, 13 is considered a very lucky number. The expression fare tredici (“to do 13”) means hit the jackpot.
