In the 19th century, swallows symbolized a safe return home. No wonder sailors got the birds tattooed on their bodies for the next hundred years. Here, one is diving with a teardrop-shaped pink topaz in her mouth.

    14k gold (tests), pear-shaped pink topaz, seed pearls, new 14k gold chain

    Very good - we've converted this piece from a brooch into a necklace; old stock marks etched on the backside of one wing

    1 1/4" length including the drop, 1 5/8" wingspan, 18" chain
