Georgian Agate, Rock Crystal & Garnet Pearl Choker

$2,400

Sold!

This extraordinary choker combines nearly every material the Georgians loved: pearls, glowing rock crystal, garnets, and picture agate. The seed pearls are woven into a delicate, lacy mesh that sits closely around the neck, requiring extraordinary patience and skill to create—much like the fine textiles and lace of the day. At its center is an oval picture agate, its natural inclusions resembling a miniature landscape painting. Georgian collectors were captivated by these stones, often imagining mountains, forests, or distant horizons within their abstract patterns. Surrounding the agate are old-cut rock crystals and flat-cut garnets, both chosen to shimmer by candlelight.
