Georgian Carnelian Mourning Ring

$1,500

Sold!

A Georgian mourning ring made to honor the memory of James Lamb who died on the 30th of May 1805 at the age of 88. Originally, this ring would surely have held a locket with plaited hair, but at some point in time it was replaced with this tangerine-hued carnelian cabochon.

    10k gold (tests), carnelian cabochon

  • Age

    dedicated in 1805

Very good - carnelian cabochon is probably a replacement for a hair locket
