Georgian Gray Pearl Half Hoop Ring

$1,275

Sold!

IN 1820, at the end of the Georgian period, gray pearls were far less common than their white counterparts. Set into a half-hoop ring, they would have made the wearer look v. sophisticated. Half-hoop rings were comfortable enough for everyday wear while still offering plenty of presence across the finger. Pearls were a favorite choice: they had long been associated with wisdom, sincerity, and emotional balance, qualities especially admired in Georgian women. Historic repair or resizing marks on the shank remind us that this ring was truly worn and treasured by previous generations.
