Georgian Green Paste Drop Earrings

These lovely Georgian earrings are fashioned in base metal with newer gold ear wires and verdant paste stones. The emerald green paste gems have the brightness and depth of color of their precious counterparts. Paste, invented in France in 1724, is the precursor to rhinestone jewelry. The “gems” fashioned from glass were cut and polished with the same care and precision as precious stones.
