Georgian Hand Clasp Bracelet

Around the 1820's, when this bracelet was made, the JEWELRY wore jewelry. (That ruby ring!) I imagine this length of chain was once longer - a necklace, maybe - but over the centuries it may have been shortened. We're left with a gorgeous complexly textured chain and a cleverly designed clasp.
