Georgian Pear-Shaped Rose Cut Diamond Ring

$2,000

Sold!

This pear-shaped rose cut diamond was once a sparkling star in the tail of an 1835 Halley's Comet brooch. The stone is delightfully offbeat, with broad, irregular facets that reflect light in the imperfect way that the Georgians loved. Still held in its original collet setting, the diamond is now supported by a new 14k gold shank, making the piece sturdy enough for (very careful!) modern wear. The celestial vibes remain. (The last detail picture is of the original, damaged, very large brooch that we dismantled.)
