Pinchbeck is an early form of brass named for its inventor, Christopher Pinchbeck, an 18th century London-based watchmaker. This elaborate c. 1800 chain is crafted in textured pinchbeck alternating with black lacquered links. Dynamic and unusual, this 40.5" chain is reminiscent of the styles worn in the century before it was made and fastens with a decorative clasp set with a large terracotta-colored paste.
