Georgian “Use Me Well” Rebus Seal Necklace

A terrific early 19th century wax seal fob with a chalcedony rebus intaglio depicting the words “Use me” arced over an image of a well. The implication? Perhaps that the reader should use the information contained in the letter to best advantage. Or, equally likely given the way people spoke and wrote in the Georgian era, that the recipient should treat the sender with kindness and consideration. On a new 18" gold chain.
