Gothic Revival Garnet Ring

$2,400

Sold!

OH MY GOTH! This ring is a classic expression of mid-19th-century Gothic Revival jewelry, a style that created emotional drama by borrowing medieval forms. The triple garnet head echoes reliquaries or tri-fold panels from the Middle Ages. The stones are left domed and closed-backed, emphasizing depth of color over brilliance. This was a hallmark of Gothic Revival design.
