Grand Tour Carved Coral Acorn Drop Earrings

$1,600

Sold!

What holds more possibility - the promise of big things! - than a vacation? These carved coral earrings were picked up as a souvenir by someone on the Grand Tour, most likely in Italy, while they were seeing the classical ancient monuments. Roman ruins certainly planted a seed in one's mind. At the height of the Victorian era, England seemed unstoppable in her power, but then again, look what happened to the mighty Republic! Beginnings, endings, potential, deep time: the acorn symbolized all of this and more.
