Grand Tour Micromosaic Necklace
Sold!

THE GRAND TOUR was a rite of passage for wealthy young British and American people in the 18th and 19th centuries. Students made their way through Paris, Germany, and the ancient Roman ruins in Italy. Travelers often bought souvenirs to remember the journey (and flaunt at social gatherings). This pendant, a glass tesserae, was a nod to ancient Roman mosaic floors. It would have been a budget-friendly memento from the tour.
