Late 19th Century Phoenix & Stars Lapis Intaglio Ring
Sold!

"Rising from the ashes like a Phoenix": this mythical bird represents rebirth and renewal. For millennia it has been associated with the sun and fire. Phoenixes, appearing in heraldry since the Middle Ages, always share attributes: the head, chest and wings of an eagle rise from fire, and the entire creature is never depicted. Mysterious! Bonus flames are coming out of her head here, crown-like. She carries a three-starred shield.
