Mid Victorian Emerald & Nacre Snake Earrings

$3,000

Sold!

Two wiggly snakes protect their eggs in mirror formation. Emeralds serve as decoration to their North and South; wavy settings on the drops echo the flickers of their tails. The orbs are nacre - also known as mother of pearl. They resemble pearls pretty effectively; in the 1860s, matched pearls of that size would have cost a small fortune.
