Scottish Victorian Agate & Jasper Necklace

$4,800

Sold!

This necklace showcases the geological pride of Victorian Scotland. Agate and jasper, often quarried locally, were prized across the UK and beyond for their saturated colors and wild patterns. Queen Victoria helped popularize the trend of using native Scottish stones in jewelry after falling in love with the landscape around her country home, Balmoral. The world followed her lead. Scottish hardstone jewelry wasn't meant to be private. It loudly expressed your heritage and your love for Caledonia, even if you weren't Scottish, or had never been there.
