Scottish Victorian Knot Motif Pebble Bracelet

$1,350

Sold!

This silver bracelet has beautifully hand-engraved links featuring cross-hatched thistle motifs and intricate Scottish “pebble” inlay - a labor-intensive mosaic of native agates and jaspers. These richly colored stones were sourced from the Scottish Highlands, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh, then set into silver by local craftsmen for the tourist trade of the late 19th century. The interlaced knot motif evokes enduring love and unity, a favorite Victorian symbol, while the piece’s design reflects the era’s fascination with Highland culture—an interest sparked by Queen Victoria’s frequent visits to Balmoral and her romanticization of all things Scottish.
