Inspired by varsity letters, the traditional fabric award—usually a large chenille initial of the school—given to students for excellence in varsity sports, academics, or extracurricular activities. The tradition started in Harvard University in 1865 when the baseball team sewed an old English "H" onto their shirts. By the early 1900s, the design shifted to heavy sweaters and later to classic wool-and-leather letterman jackets. White diamonds in 14k gold make for a classic combo. Materials: 14k gold, .01ct white diamonds. Letters are .4" tall.
