Victorian Gilt Silver & Garnet Bracelet

$2,400

Sold!

Though crafted in gilt silver rather than gold, this bracelet demonstrates the same high level of artistry found in the finest jewels of its era. Each garnet cabochon is meticulously set within an intricate lattice, forming a broad, flexible band that drapes beautifully on the wrist. The richness of the gilding enhances the warmth of the garnets, giving the piece a luxurious glow. Late-Victorian jewelers often used gilded silver to achieve the appearance of gold without compromising on craftsmanship. On the inside of the links, dozens of botanical engravings appear where nobody but the wearer will enjoy them.
