Victorian Gold in Quartz Pendant

$1,250

Sold!

This gold is still embedded in its white quartz host rock, exactly the form in which it was found. In the 19th century, specimens like this were sometimes mounted in gold as keepsakes of the gold rush era. We don't know if it was a lucky trophy or a souvenir from a specific place. I imagine it was once a watch fob, but we added a matching gold chain to make it a necklace.
