Victorian Jet Bellflower Earrings

$850

Sold!

The bellflower — also called campanula — was a favorite motif in 19th-century floriography, representing gratitude, constancy, and enduring affection. In mourning jewelry, its drooping form conveyed sadness, much like the weeping willow. Jet, believed to absorb sorrow and protect the wearer, was the perfect medium to immortalize these flowers; they'll never wilt.
