The word MIZPAH comes from the Old Testament verse, “The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.” In the 19th century, lovers and close friends exchanged Mizpah jewels as pledges of fidelity during separation. This gilt metal bangle features the word “mizpah” within a banderole.
