Victorian “Mizpah” North Star Ring

$1,650

Sold!

The word MIZPAH comes from the Old Testament verse, “The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.” In the 19th century, lovers and close friends exchanged Mizpah jewels as pledges of fidelity during separation. Here, an old mine cut diamond in a star-shaped setting can be imagined as The North Star, which served a similar purpose: it was the fixed point in the night sky that guided travelers and sailors home. Let this ring be your talisman of constancy and reunion.
