Victorian Penny Black Stamp Necklace

$1,675

Sold!

The "Penny Black" was the world's first adhesive postage stamp used in a public postal system. It was in use for just one year - between 1840 and 1841. The face of the new-ish-ly crowned Queen Victoria appeared on it. They're collectible (to philatelist nerd kings and queens) because they were the first of their kind and were printed for such a short run. This one is mounted in gold and hand engraved "Genuine Penny Black 1840-1841".
