Victorian Priest’s Oil Stock in Original Box

I don't know enough about what a priest's job is to truly understand this object, but I DO know it was made carefully, beautifully, in London in 1876. Sterling silver containers screw together for ease of transportation; one is engraved CHR (christening) and the other CAT (catechism). We were told it held (holy?) oils.
