Victorian Ruby & Diamond Entwined Snakes Ring

The intertwined snakes symbol is evident in the art and allegorical representations of various ancient cultures such as the Celts, Egyptians, Hindus, and Buddhists. In Greek mythology, it finds its embodiment in the caduceus, the emblem of Hermes. According to legend, Hermes encountered two serpents locked in battle, which he then intervened to reconcile, thus establishing peace and unity. Consequently, entwined snakes came to signify both the divine messenger and the ideals of harmony and concord. This Victorian entwined snakes ring - set with a ruby and old mine cut diamond - signifies the union of two beings in eternal harmony.
