Victorian Wheat Collar Stud

$1,675

Sold!

Bearing a Birmingham hallmark for 1891, this 18k gold jewel was meant to be worn by a man at the center of his starched white shirt's neck area. Wheat, of course, has been a symbol of abundance and prosperity since at least Ancient Egypt, but a DIAMOND wheat sheaf screams "I'VE MADE IT"! I imagine it marked someone's promotion or celebrated a financial milestone. Much personal engraving appears on the back.
